Meet Dr. Portnoff

Traci A. Portnoff, DMD
I am dedicated to excellence in dentistry and I enjoy enhancing people’s lives. I am a perfectionist through and through. I find dentistry to be a wonderful blend of science and art, allowing me to combine all of my strengths. But, it is the people who make this a great profession for me, with an exceptional team and a terrific family of patients.
I believe that a smile is the window to a person’s self-esteem. Whether it is a whole new smile, a tweak to their existing smile, or simply taking pride in the health of their mouth, it is very rewarding to assist our patients and see the change in them both physically and emotionally as they journey toward optimal oral health.
Education and experience
Undergraduate degree – Brandeis University
Doctorate of Dental Medicine – Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine
Harvard-Wide General Practice Residency
It is important to me to offer the latest, safest most efficient techniques and technology for our patients. I am involved in a Dr. Frank Spear Study Club and meet monthly with a select group of local general dentists and specialists. Additionally, I have been on the masters track with the Pride Institute. I am constantly striving to learn more.
Prior to buying my practice in 2006, I was a general dental practice residency coordinator at the Massachusetts General Hospital as part of the Harvard-Wide GPR. Since that time, I have been very committed to advanced education. Rather that teaching residents and students at this point, I focus on teaching myself, my team, and our family of patients. As a team, we do monthly literature reviews and are committed to offering the best for our patients.
In the dental community
I am involved in the Massachusetts Dental Society as a member of the standing committee for women’s leadership in dentistry. I often volunteer my services to provide dentistry in under-served populations via a mobile dental van provided by the MA Dental Society.
Outside the office
Originally from central New Jersey, I have lived in Hopkinton, MA, for the past 10 years. My husband, Jonathan, and I have two wonderful children, Lexi and Andrew. When I have free time I enjoy yoga, snow skiing, coloring with my kids, and spending time with my family.
